Many lagging countries have a comparative advantage in clean innovation
Which countries have a comparative advantage in clean technologies? The Figure below examines this by looking at the share of clean innovations in total innovation across countries (using PATSTAT patent data.). A surprising number of developing countries have a comparative advantage in clean teachnologies.
